"Every child deserves a champion-an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be." -Rita Pierson
I Believe...
I believe that every student has a story.
I understand that every student that steps foot into my classroom has a life outside of school. It is my job to accept each student's backstory, regardless of what it is, and love them unconditionally, teach them, and help them grow.
I believe in communication.
Not only will I have strong communication between my students and myself, but with the parents of my students as well. My students will know what I expect of them at all times and the parents will never be left in the dark.
I believe in creating a family.
Creating community and a family within the classroom allows each of my students to feel that they are always in a safe space when in my classroom. This allows students to not be afraid to make mistakes or express concerns or celebrate one another.
I believe in encouragement.
Every student in my classroom will be encouraged in everything they do. They will always have me rooting in their corner, which in turn, will create a positive learning environment.
I believe in choice.
No two children are the same, therefore they deserve a choice in academics. By providing students with choices in their activities and work, they are being set up to succeed in the classroom.
